If you share your living area with others, it would be a good idea if they quit smoking too. Try and keep your house as dust-free as possible by vacuuming regularly and wiping surfaces with a wet cloth. If you have pets, you may have to get rid of them, especially since fur can aggravate an asthma attack.
Eat Well, Breathe Easy
Not many people realize that your food intake can affect your breathing as well. Especially in the case of asthmatics, slight changes in your diet can make a world of difference in the way you breathe. For instance, avoiding any kind milk products is helpful, since milk products contribute to mucus formation. Meat is also known to be a major cause as asthma as well as junk foods and processed foods.
When treating asthma, it is also important to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains. Garlic and onions are also needed since they are helpful in combating inflammations. Having unfiltered apple cider vinegar about four times a day will cut down on mucus formation. Water is also a good way to help in treating asthma attacks as it flushes out toxins from your body and decreases the amount of mucus that is formed. Having about eight glasses a day in between meals is a great way to lower asthma attacks. Vitamins can also do a lot of good as many asthma patients have been found to be deficient in Vitamin B6.
By taking these necessary steps and precautions, you'll find that treating asthma can be easily done in an effective manner.
